In the context of its initiative on Smart Specialisation Cooperation in Central Europe, the European Commission Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) is proud to invite you to the conference "Smart towns in Central and Eastern Europe" on 29-30 November in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The event is organised jointly with the Strategic Research & Innovation Partnership (SRIP) for Smart Cities and Communities and Watify - a non for profit initiative supported by the Commission for stimulating digital entrepreneurship.

The overarching goal of the Conference is to connect representatives of smaller towns in the region and their public service companies in order to facilitate the exchange of best practices between them and to find synergies and possibilities for future development. The conference will also give them the opportunity to connect with solution providers (SMEs) from different areas, to generate long-term collaboration among them and to accelerate the development and implementation of smart solutions in towns across the region.

The event follows the Smart Specialisation Cooperation in Central Europe workshop held in Zagreb in December 2016 and the workshop on Industry 4.0 in Budapest in September this year.
