An investment of EUR 164.4 million from the Cohesion Fund has been made to aid the construction of road connections between the municipalities of Mielno and Białe Błota in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region, which is situated in the centre of Poland. The project is sited along the S5 express road and will help ensure a faster link – a 21-minute reduction in travel time – and a safer route between the centre of the country and the cities of Poznań and Wrocław. "This investment will have a positive impact on the local economy and regional cohesion; the entire central area of Poland will benefit from it," explained the Commissioner for Regional Policy, Corina Creţu. The project is expected to be completed by July 2019. More information on Cohesion policy in Poland is available on the Open Data Platform.
