Last week, the Commission has published the latest financial data transmitted by national and regional Cohesion policy Programmes (ERDF/ESF/Cohesion Fund) on the progress in selecting investment projects across the Union. Compared to the position at end 2016 an additional EUR 51.7 billion is now allocated to projects supporting citizens, business and public infrastructures to contribute to growth, job prospects, social inclusion, innovation and sustainable development. That brings to EUR 186 billion the sum already allocated to projects in the real economy under those funds (and increase from EUR 134 bn at end 2016), representing 39% of the programmes' multi annual budget (they invest until 2023).
The financial data was transmitted by the programmes in July 2017 and shows progress by Fund and Member State.
