European Commission invests 130 million euro in a motorway in the North-West of Slovakia

The European Commission approved the first phase of a major project worth €155.6 million with a contribution from the Cohesion Fund of €130.3 million.  The project aims at building a 12.3 km long section of the D3 motorway from Svrčinovec to Skalité in the North-West part of Slovakia.

The D3 motorway is connected to the East-West D1 motorway at the junction "Hričovské Podhradie" and is a continuation of a major motorway connection between Bratislava, Žilina and North-western region of Kysuca, with a connection to the Polish expressway S69.
