EU Solidarity Fund: Determination of aid amounts
|Available languages :|
When calculating the amount of aid that a Member State can receive from the EU Solidarity Fund the Commission looks at how wealthy the respective State is and the amount of total direct damage suffered. Accordingly, each Member State has a specific threshold that needs to be passed in order to trigger an intervention from the Fund for major disasters. The threshold means that the direct damage resulting from the disaster needs to amount to 0.6% of the State's Gross
National Income or EUR 3 billion in 2011 prices, whereby the lower amount is applied.
