Croatia has set up an inter-ministerial working group for regional cooperation. This is a forum for discussion on the implementation of Danube strategy but also about other related topics like the new Adriatic-Ionian macro region, the European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation etc. The meetings are organised by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and chaired by national coordinator Marušić. One of the topics discussed in the inter-ministerial group's meeting tackles the possibilities to finance the implementation of Danube Strategy within the legal framework provided by the Common Strategy Framework for the next programming period.
The thematic interest in Croatia focuses on competitiveness and enterprises priority (driven by the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship) and on environment and more concretely on biodiversity (driven by the Ministry of Environmental and Nature Protection). Croatia has in the same time in education and innovation related topics and is very active in promoting academic networks and innovation clustering in the region.
