Programme description
Main objectives
The Cooperation programme addresses the most important cross-border challenges which are linked to the implementation of Europe 2020 in the Slovak-Czech border region. Strategically, the programme contributes to a strengthened cross-border regional innovation capacity as well as to increased cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises and the research and development sector across borders. At the same time it will address environmental issues and promote effective and sustainable use of natural and cultural heritage, taking into account efficient restoration of biodiversity. Activities in these two domains will be complemented by efforts to foster closer co-operation in legal and administrative areas to create a fully integrated border region.
Funding priorities
The programme will focus on the following three priorities:

- increase the share of SME innovation
- strengthen the cooperation between enterprises and research institutions
- improve education and training schemes to support youth employment
- modernise cycle tracks and footpaths
- increase the cross-border territory focused on biodiversity protection and restoration
