ROP Campania ERDF

Programme description

Main objectives

The programme aims to create growth and jobs by boosting innovation and competitiveness, and improving the regional system of research and development, in line with the Europe 2020 objectives for a smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The programme will contribute to increase SMEs competitiveness, strengthen research and innovation, improve energy efficiency, boost the ultra-broadband penetration and preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the region. It will also help to develop and improve environmentally-friendly and low carbon transport systems, to promote social inclusion and to regenerate deprived communities in urban areas. Finally, it will invest in education and training infrastructure.

Funding priorities

The programme will focus on ten main priorities:

  • Enhancing and promoting research, technological development and innovation: EUR 514 million;
  • Improving and extending access to ICT, including the improvement of ICT services: EUR 349 million;
  • Promoting competitiveness of the productive system: EUR 352 million
  • Sustaining energetic efficiency and the use of renewable energies as well as the efficient use of resources: EUR 616 million
  • Promoting risk prevention of natural and connected to climate change disasters: EUR 369 million;
  • Preserving and promoting natural and cultural heritage: EUR 996 million
  • Promoting sustainable transport and promoting the connection of internal regional areas: EUR 223 million;
  • Promoting social inclusion, combating poverty and any discrimination: EUR 152 million;
  • Sustaining regional education infrastructures: EUR 37 million
  • Promoting urban development: EUR 286 million

    • Key expected impacts

    • Support some 2000 companies in creating synergies with research organizations and centres and universities, aiming at the development of new products, services and processes, in the framework of the regional Smart specialisation strategy;
    • 100% broadband coverage with 30 Mbps speed will be ensured and at least 20% with 100 Mbps;
    • Create almost 600 new jobs through support to SMEs;
    • Increase private investments to over 18% of the regional GDP;
    • Over 200.000 additional tons of waste recycled per year;
    • Reduction of CO2 equivalent emission for tonnes 4.900;
    • Over 3 million people benefiting from waste water treatment and ensure that 100% of the urban population has access to clean water;
    • Completion of the strategic ports of Naples and Salerno;
    • Over 850.000 citizens benefiting from improved health services.
