Programme description
Main objectives
The Operational ERDF Programme 2014-2020 of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg aims at the creation of a business environment that promotes innovation and sustainable economic growth while ensuring attractive jobs and contributing to an environmentally friendly development of the region.
The funding priorities will deliver a significant contribution to the implementation of the Europe 2020-Strategy for an intelligent, sustainable and inclusive growth. EU-funding will be targeted according to the unique strengths and development needs of the region. The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg has broadly involved a number of actors from the economy, research, education and civil society in the preparation of the operational programme.
Funding priorities
The programme will focus on two main priorities:
1.) Strengthening of Research, Development and Innovation by
- Improvement of research and innovation infrastructure
- Promotion of investments of enterprises in research and innovation
- Promotion of more effective networking and knowledge-transfer between economy and science
- Improvement of the financing options for young innovative enterprises
2.) Promotion of measures to reduce CO2-Emmissions in enterprises, including measures to increase energy efficiency and use of renewable energies
Expected impacts
The expected impacts of the programme are inter alia:
- Creation of new or improvement of existing research infrastructure
- Creation of 56 new jobs in improved research institutions
- Support to 84 existing research and innovation enterprises
- Support to 21 enterprises cooperating with research and development centers and 4 clusters or research networks
- Reduction of CO2 emissions by 85.700 tons per year
- Promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy use in enterprises
- Implementation of projects for the intelligent integration in the energy supply in 10 enterprises
