OPEN DAYS 2012 kicked-off

OPEN DAYS 2012 kick-offGerhard Stahl, Secretary-General of the Committee of the Regions, and Nicholas Martyn, Deputy Director-General of the European Commission's Regional Policy DG, welcomed about 140 regional, local and business representatives to the kick-off meeting of OPEN DAYS 2012. Between 8 and 11 October, Europe's regions and cities are invited to showcase good practice in regional and urban development and discuss on the future of cohesion policy 2014-2020.

On the occasion of the OPEN DAYS 10th anniversary, the suggested 2012 headline will be: "Europe's regions and cities: Making a difference".

There will be three thematic priorities:

  1. Smart and green growth for all;
  2. Territorial cooperation: an asset for Europe; and
  3. Delivering results.

Deadline for applications of regional partnerships and seminars at the Committee of the Regions' 'Meeting Place' is 5 March 2012. More details can be found in the 'information pack' below:
