This exciting project will see the construction of a new sports and entertainment arena with capacity for 13 000 spectators, boosting the city’s reputation for large events.

Ambitious plans take city towards a new future

This particular project is ‘Phase I: Entertainment Arena' of a larger project called the ‘Programme for Developing Recreational Areas in Łódź into a Regional Recreation, Sports and Conference Centre’. The City of Łódź is responsible for overseeing the project and will be the eventual owner of the venue, however it will be operated by a company selected during a public tender process.

Its plans also include the development of the area around the facility, notably a football stadium (Phase II), Botanic Park, Zoo, Aquapark and surrounding municipal parks. Together, they will represent one of the largest centres of its kind in the region. Once up and running, the venue is forecast to welcome 500 000 spectators and host 58 sports and cultural events each year. The construction of the new facilities is also expected to strengthen the city's position as a modern, attractive travel destination.

Plenty of room for everyone

With total capacity of 13 000 spectators, the possibilities of hosting large international acts will be significantly increased. The facility will cover a total area of 27 550 m2, of which 25 893 m2 represents space available for use (these are approximate values). To create an enjoyable, healthy and relaxing environment, the project plans also include the development of green areas covering some 5 020 m2.

Employment is another benefit stemming from the project. During the initial stages of the project, a total of 150 direct jobs will be created, each lasting nine months. Following this stage, another 30 direct jobs will be created, these of average duration five years.
