Strategy for the Outermost Regions: Achievements and Future Prospects

Public consultation

This consultation was initiated by Commissioner Danuta Hübner on 12 September 2007, the same day the "Strategy for the Outermost Regions: Achievements and Future Prospects" (COM/2007/507final and SEC/2007/1112) communication was adopted. It is intended for the European institutions, Member States, the regions and all other parties interested in the future of these regions (local players, association representatives, unions, academics and researchers…). The consultation will close on 31 March 2008.

The goal of the consultation is to promote reflection on the future of European strategy for the Outermost Regions. To this end, four (non-exclusive) themes have been identified as being of particular significance: climate change, demography and the management of migratory flows, agriculture and, EU maritime policies. Contributions can key off of the issues raised in the communication and its appendix

Contributions must be sent by electronic mail to: REGIO-CONSULTATION-COMMUNICATION-RUP@ec.europa.eu with the name and contact details of the sending institution clearly indicated. All contributions will be made public at the end of the consultation period.
