The consultation concerned all the major policy fields: transport, energy, environment, trade, employment, research, etc.

Its objective was to reach all stakeholders and to gather their ideas in order to make sure that the EU Strategy for the Danube Region is realistic in its starting point, appropriate in its objectives and responsive to the real needs of inhabitants of the Region.

The target group was composed of the Member States, the Regional and Local Authorities, the Inter-Governmental and Non-Governmental Bodies, the Public Organisations, the Enterprises, the civil society and the general public. They have been invited to send their contribution during the period 02.02.2010 - 12.04.2010.

The interest demonstrated by the numerous stakeholders who have react and sent their contributions has been highly appreciated by the services of the Commission.
