Brussels, 9 June 2009 - Albert Borschette Building (CCAB)
Member States have the primary responsibility for ensuring that operations financed by the EU budget under structural actions programmes comply fully with all the regulatory requirements. The managing authorities and the certifying authorities are the pillars of the control framework, together with the audit authorities, delivering assurance to the Commission and to the European citizen.
This event is organised by the European Commission's DGs for structural actions for the period 2007-2013, DG Regional Policy and DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and is aimed at representatives from the Member States, who will be receiving information and material and using it on their return to update and train their national colleagues: managing authorities, certifying authorities and intermediate bodies.
The outputs should be a strengthened partnership for training, guidance and awareness-raising actions to ensure that all actors in programme implementation have the knowledge and information to perform their roles properly.
