Jobs - Job Opportunities

Recruitment ProcessThe Research Executive Agency (REA) offers job opportunities to:

  • Temporary Agents
  • Contract Agents
  • Trainees

The recruitment of Temporary staff is done via calls of expressions of interest while Contract staff are selected from databases after having passed a CAST competition. The calls for trainees open twice a year and are processed by the European Commission.

Temporary Staff

Currently there are no open calls.

Temporary Agents are recruited only via calls for expressions of interest which are advertised on this website. Consult this page regularly to be informed about new vacancies.

Spontaneous applications for Temporary Agent posts cannot be accepted.

Contract Staff

Contract staff are recruited by selection panels. Candidates are sought by searching the CAST databases.

Only candidates who passed a CAST competency test, and are included in one of the databases listed below, can be considered:

  • CAST25
  • CAST27
  • CAST Secretary 2008
  • CAST02/10 competency-tested candidate
  • EPSO/CAST/S/5/2013
  • CAST Research S/5/2013

If listed in one of these CAST databases, you can send your CV and letter of interest to REA SPONTANEOUS APPLICATIONS. Mention the CAST profile and your candidate ID number in your e-mail. Should there be a vacancy which matches your profile, you may be invited for an interview before a selection panel.

The REA regularly offers recent graduates the opportunity to do a five-month traineeship, as part of the European Commission scheme for trainees.

There are two sessions per year, starting in March and October, with applications opening in July-August and January respectively. The traineeships are paid.

Visit the European Commission's Traineeship Office for more information and to apply. No application will be processed directly by the REA.
