Heelless shoe to avoid running injuries

EU-funded researchers develop a new jogging-friendly 'heelless' sneaker to prevent running injuries

A heelless running shoe may soon hit the market.

The shoe, made up of natural fibres and built on a 'shock plate', puts less stress on the knees and ankles to help prevent running injuries.

The shoe, designed and developed by the HEELLESS research team, could provide European SMEs with new opportunities to compete with East Asian sport shoes currently on the market.
