EU-funded project to test the capacity to save lives on earthquake drill in Barcelona

An EU-funded project managed by the REA, SGL for USaR, is to conduct a mock rescue operation during an earthquake drill in Barcelona, Spain, this Friday. The project, backed by almost €4.9 million in EU research funds, is to test the efficiency of a new technology that combines chemical, audiovisual and telecommunication data for the rapid location of earthquake victims trapped under building rubble.
