    Today, the EIT has published the Framework of Guidance for the EIT’s 2018 Call for Proposals. To further enhance its impact and to incentivise the innovations needed to meet societal challenges, we’re continuing to expand our activities in 2018 by launching a call for two new Knowledge and Innovation Communities: - EIT Manufacturing: strengthening and increasing the competitiveness of Europe’s manufacturing industry - EIT Urban Mobility: smart, green and integrated urban transport
  • Commission launches EIC Horizon Prize for Affordable High-Tech for Humanitarian Aid

    The European Commission has launched the first of six European Innovation Council (EIC) Horizon Prizes, on Affordable High-Tech for Humanitarian Aid. EIC Horizon Prizes are part of the European Innovation Council pilot run under Horizon 2020, the EU's Research and Innovation Framework Programme.

    The European Commission today launched a Horizon Prize in Social Innovation to improve the mobility of older people. The prize has a budget of €2 million and is funded under Horizon 2020, the EU's research and innovation programme. One prize of €1 million and four runner-up prizes of €250,000 each will be awarded to the most innovative mobility solutions that enable older citizens to continue to fully participate in social activities, maintain their autonomy and age healthily.
