Today, the European Commission announced an investment of €8.5 billion to be released during 2017 into research and innovation, following an update to the Work Programme of Horizon 2020, the EU's research and innovation funding programme.

A consortium of 12 partners in six European countries has launched a project to develop a cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) platform for improving the efficiency and transparency of the compliance with the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) monitoring procedure.
