Summary
The project aims to promote civic and democratic participation of EU citizens:- stimulating the confidence towards EU institutional role - raising the awareness towards the impact the EU can have on citizens' daily life and on the benefits it can bring to them.To Achieve this objective the twinned towns will promote and implement the rights and benefits related to EU citizenship, by making their citizens experiment international cooperation potentials in reducing physical distances and in formulating common solutions to shared problems while valorizing local distinguishing features. The protagonists of this project will be the younger generation, because of its prominent role in building the future of Europe and SMEs, which represent Europe economic backbone (past)and at the same time its current and future economic engine (forward-looking).The 2 categories will cooperate by means of International Working Teams (IWT) composed by youth and SMEs representatives, who will at first work through the use of web-based platforms and communication tools (Phases 1,2 and 3) and in a second phase, physically together (Phese 4).The main aim of the IWTs will be the development of a product/strategy/methodology focused on the improvement of SMEs visibility & market placement and to valorize youth creativity and capacities. This collaboration, as well as offering the opportunity to exchange knowledge, skills and experience, will allow participants to experience the added value linked to the European dimension and the meaning of "building a better future together " Moreover, during the twinning event in Dueville, it will be organised a public event during which project participants, general citizens, academia representatives and territorial administrators will discuss on youth and SMEs policies efficacy and actions to be undertaken in the near future. This will be listed in an ad-hoc MoU to be signed by the twinned cities, so to assure sustainability to project results.
