Title: For a common Europe - St.Vincenc day´s 2016
Summary
Event For a common Europe - St.Vincenc day’s 2016 is a traditional, annual event, with mostly cultural-social character and potential for deeper discussions on relevant EU topics with regard to needs of new member, Croatia, in the EU. The most important topics of this year's event are discussions about EU’s future, message of previous generations, current generation and their work in creating the EU to young people. Event’s aim will be to remind specific EU’s achievements in creating democracy and peace in Europe, to highliht current European problems and show forms and ways, how through active citizens’ participation in EU events and knowledge of formation and influencing EU policies processes, can these problems be addressed. Through examples of young people’s rights’ application and their participation in EU events we will point on their impact on EU’s future. Space will be dedicated to EU‘s future due to current problems – Ukraine, immigrants, closing the Schengen borders in contrast with European year of development. Quiz between citizens, dedicated to gaining knowledge of europ. topics will be organised. 178 visitors from Slovakia, Hungary and Serbia will take part in the project, with locals are directly involved 308 citizens. The project indirectly touches 18000 people. Target groups are residents of Podgora (Croatia), Szerencs (Hungary), Krakovany, Vrbové (Slovakia) and members of Communitas Europeana (Serbia) association. It is represented by several interest groups, representatives of local government, state government, students, seniors, non-profit sector. In choosing, we considered application of equal opportunities principle and volunteering. Some participants will be accommodated directly in families. From 18th to 21st August is prepared rich program with final conference with presentation of results and message to target groups. Great emphasis we give to publicity to the project. Organizing team has plenty of experiences with organizing such events.
