Title: Challenges for Europe - Understand and Overcome Together
Summary
Main purpose of the project was to foster active citizenship and involvement in democratic processes of European Union sharing knowledge and understanding at the community level. Project activities foster cooperation between towns, established and supported new cooperation between different civic organizations, encouraged citizens to learn different approaches and experiences and created new ways for participating in dealing with challenges arising for European Union today such as refugee crisis, migration from lower economies, Euroscepticism, weakening of common values and solidarity, economic and political challenges. Project provided citizens possibility to participate in events that were designed to share best practices, different experiences and approaches on the main topics of the project and to gain a better understanding of all scope of arguments and their own role in overcoming nowadays crisis. 6 conferences for participants from 8 countries were organized in the topics concerning modern European chalenges. The recommendations handbook with the best experiences and suggestions to local communities were prepared and published creating the basis to understand the challenges for Europe and represent the tools for civic engagement. The short films created during the project show stories of success, ways of participating, democracy experiences, different approaches to the problems, lessons of Europeans and things we can change participating more actively.
