Title:
LOOKING INTO FUTURE EUROPE
Summary
History repeats itself and each time it costs more, said Winston Churchill, and his words reflect the sad events in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, where there are again broader attempts to revise history at the expense of anti-fascism, without its critical observation, which has also greatly contributed the local war events in the first half of the 90s, and in the post-war period. In the absence of genuine reaction of state institutions to attempts to revise history and a lack of media criticism, with some media even glorifying chauvinist and nationalist movements and the ustasha and chetnik attitudes, as well as the worrying lack of presentation of historical content about the current relevance of anti-fascism in school textbooks, this project aims to contribute to the opening of space for a reasoned debate among CSO's, experts and school teachers on the consideration of history and development of solutions that would revitalize the meaning of antifascism as the value on which Europe was created and storing memories of European past. This will be achieved through a discussion of these issues through the detection of specific problems in each of the participating countries of the former Yugoslavia in cooperation with civil society organizations. Apart from the at least 10 news articles of different genres and final analysis, there will be joint event so that we can share different views and discus ways for cooperation with the help of experts and try to open space for new solutions as a means of moving beyond past and building the future.
