Title: Developing Our Good Vibes
Summary
Project "Developing Our Good Vibes" includes participants from 8 different countries to talk and discuss topics of conflict management, tolerance and propaganda. All these topics are going to be discussed in a 5-day conference in Lithuania. It very important for local communities to get more involved to European-level topics. This active commitment will also foster a sense of ownership of the EU policies and promote active participation, to build a tighter-knit Europe, according to the principles of active citizenship and participatory democracy. Therefore, participants will be encouraged to exchange opinions and best practices with the aim to formulate new ideas and concrete future proposals. The EU is facing into a time of deep transformation and alteration to its principles with the crises related to asylum seekers, euroscepticism and the stigmatization of immigrants. The task therefore is to address these issues and combat them by developing a project which aims to return to the roots of EU; integration,inclusion and internationalisation.The project will provide citizens the opportunity and foundation to interact and participate in events that will be tailored to share best practices and experiences on the main topics of the project. By doing so the project will also aim to foster a strong sense of European identity and enhance mutual understanding between existing members and our new European members.New physical and symbolic boundaries emerge within Europeancities from growing xenophobia, intolerance and discriminations even before those built at European internal and external borders.Through a bottom-up approach aiming at promoting city-level and local awareness-raising about the urgent need for establishing new intercultural connections among inhabitants of marginalized multi-ethnic neighbourhoods/areas and population of central areas, this project aims at tackling growing fear of immigration and to overcome related misleading stereotypes.
