Summary
The project overall objective was to empower European citizenship and to encourage citizensinvolvement, especially of young, in the democratic life of Europe, in particular by motivating them toparticipate in the 2019 EP Elections.Specific objectives:- to encourage EU citizens to make their voice count by voting in the 2019 European elections;- to build the capacity of young people to participate actively in the democratic life of Europeand counter the challenges of Euroscepticism- to give voice to citizens by involving them in debate on forward-looking initiatives for thefuture of Europe, on what they perceive to be the urgent issues relevant to the developmentof Europe post 2019,- To encourage first voters, passive citizens, excluded groups, and low-income families to vote- To develop integrated voter engagement campaigns and promote opportunities forsocietal and intercultural engagement and volunteering by social media influencers andvolunteers lobby groups- To provide the relevant European institutions with a document expressing the consideredview of citizens on a range of issues which they feel are important to the them;- to build the capacity of civil society organizations to foster European citizenship, thoughestablishment of a flexible international network of of active citizens and constant dialoguewith the institutions of the EU.The 18-months action has been implemented by 8 NGOs from Croatia, Bulgaria, Poland, Greece, CzechRepublic, France, Sweden and Latvia.During 18 months project events have involve more than 500 direct participants and numerous wider local public that have gained better understanding and knowledge about EU which is a necessary ground for their more active involvement.The project has been divided in 3 phases:1. How to be active citizen: (September - December 2018)2. EU activism: (January – August 2019) 3. Define Your Europe Route (September - December 2019) Main Project Activities: Activity 1. Kick off Partner Meeting held from 12/09/2018 - 15/09/2018 in Prague, Czech Republic.Activity 2. Citizens Panel 1: “ Election Day 2019: Voting in the Upcoming European Elections“ organized from 28/10/2018 – 31/10/2018 in Veliko Turnovo, Bulgaria.Activity 3. International Training for setting up of local Youth Parliaments held from 03/12/2018 – 08/12/2018 in Krakow, PolandActivity 4. International grassroots campaign at each partner country which ran from 10/12/2018 till 10/05/2019 and was held in all partner countries on national level. Campaign consisted of several local activities implemented over a period of 5 months. Activity 5. International Youth Parliament Session and Debate that was organized from 06/05/2019 – 10/05/2019 in Slavonski Brod, CroatiaActivity 6. Citizens' Discussion Panel “Define Your Europe: What Europe should be dealing with after 2019“ held on 11/09/2019 - 14/09/2019 in Daugavpils, LatviaActivity 7. Final conference was organized from 20/11/2019 – 23/11/2019 in Kristianstad, Sweden
