Summary

Although sports as a social subsystem is developing and for the first time in May, 2014 the Council adopted a new multi annual EU Work Plan for Sport to guide the EU member states in their sport policy in an integrated way, the facts show that people do less sports than required for their health and well-being. According to WHO “2/3rds of individuals at 15 years and older are not physically active at the recommended level. The main individual reasons for the students and young people to drop off sports and lead a physical inactive life are the lack of time and the lack of motivation. Thus The “Te(a)chIn Sport” general project objective is to raise awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) of students and young people through increased participation in sports using innovative technologies and promote voluntary activities in University sport. This falls under the priority if the Erasmus + Sport “to promote voluntary activities in sport, together with social inclusion, equal opportunities and awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity through increased participation in, and equal access to, sport for all”. The project target groups are the students, young people in the participating organisations, the teachers, trainers as well as the academic stuff and experts in the participating Universities and NGOs. The project activities will lead to elaboration of a new model of students’ sports academic curriculum and extending their grass root sports event calendar, that will be focused on physical education for health more then for high sports results. The project will contribute to teachers and trainers new competences, increased students and young people participation in sports, synergies with local, regional and national authorities in political legitimacy, technical support and financing for sports in Universities and NGOs. The new technology in sports will be for first time tested, evaluated and prototyped.
