Summary

Europe needs a radical rethinking on how education and training systems can deliver the skills needed by the labour market. The European Commission launched a new strategy called Rethinking Education to encourage Member States to take immediate action to ensure that young people develop the skills and competences needed for employment and career.

Description

The project “go4job – e-competences for work and learning” picked-up parts of the EU reform-proposals concerning education and apprenticeship. The main intention was to develop and realize a sophisticated training concept based on Project-Days, which delivered and promoted „digital learning- und work-competences” in selected occupational fields of regional importance.
It was developed and realized in close cooperation with training companies and interfirm training centers, and members of the group “Potenziale North Rhine-Westphalia”, which are young people, successful in career with an immigrant background.
The Project Days aimed at a dual target: Whereas the development process contributed to train apprentices in digital competences, needed to produce digital media as results, which will inform teachers and pupils from general-education schools on typical examples of rapid and intensive changes at work places and -processes and give an overview, which new competences result from it.
The German partners are experienced from manifold joint project weeks to support and develop work-place relevant IT-competences and virtual team-competences in the past. The proven pedagogic approach was further developed to so called “e-competence days”, which address apprentices with or without immigrant background and focus on challenges of school to work transit as well as on e-competences required in a future digital world of work.

Based on the experiences from the German side, the EU project-partners were supported to transfer results and organize regional eCompetence-Days, which are adapted to the requirements of the local economy community in the second part of the project.
On the portal www.go4job.de the content "professional learning support blocks" "basic e-skills", "new work-competences" and an educational handout for Internet-based arrangements for the training of skills for work & career were added.
The results are documented on go4job internet-platform in order to give information, help and advice to schools and help them teach those competences, which are of current relevance to the labour- and job market – as it is required by the above mentioned strategy paper. More specifically: A didactic-methodological standard approach on „e-competence days“ was developed in joint cooperation with the European partners, transferred, intercultural adapted and finally implemented.

eKompetenz-Tage: „Querschnittskompetenzen für eine moderne Arbeitswelt vermitteln“
In der Arbeitswelt gewinnen "Querschnittskompetenzen" immer mehr an Bedeutung, auf die Jugendliche bereits in der Schule vorbereitet werden müssen. Dies setzt aber voraus, dass Lehrer die Anforderungen in der Arbeitswelt, die sich zudem permanent ändern, kennen. Deshalb entwickeln Azubis eine Open Information Resource (OIR), die Lehrern exemplarische Einblicke in die Arbeitswelt gibt.

Handbuch: Das Handbuch informiert über die:
- Entwicklung einer leittextgestützten OER zur selbständigen Aneignung von Medienkompetenz
- Durchführung von eKompetenz-Tagen mit Auszubildenden zur
- Entwicklung einer OIR mit digital aufbereiteten Beispielen zum Wandel in der Arbeitswelt
