US market reopens for French beef imports

The United States have announced on 13.01 the lifting of the ban on imports of beef from France. The Commission welcomes this decision, which represents a new stage in the reopening of a market which has been closed since the BSE epidemic in the 1990s.

25th Review of Annex I to Regulation 669/2009

The European Commission reviewed the list of feed and food of non-animal origin subject to an increased level of official controls at the borders. The amended Annex entered into force on 1 January 2017.

EU Extends Phasing Out Period for Traces of Obsolete GM Oilseed Rapes

On 14 December 2016 the Commission extended with three years the phasing out period for traces of obsolete (previously authorised and cultivated in Canada but currently not commercialised anywhere as such) GM oilseed rapes (Ms1xRf1, Ms1xRf2 and Topas 19/2).
