Competitions for art work promoting children’s rights, business initiative and the EU – with prizes and publicity for winning entries.

How would it feel to have your work displayed across Europe? The winner of the commission’s Europe Day poster competition is about to find out.

Based on the theme ‘I Love Europe’, 1 700 entries have poured in from all over the EU in hope of the top prize – €2 000 (and some free publicity). An expert jury has already whittled the numbers down to 10 finalists, so now it’s your turn to pick your favourite poster and vote online for a winner.

If you missed this opportunity or prefer teamwork, Draw me a right is for you. This competition celebrates the 20th anniversary of the UN convention on the rights of the child, which protects children’s welfare worldwide. To take part, get together with friends and design a poster based on one of treaty’s rights. Winners will be invited to Brussels to explore the city and attend an award ceremony in recognition of their hard work.

The euro: what does it mean to us? also gives you the chance to work with friends. This time the challenge is to take a photo that expresses what the euro means to you and write a short caption to accompany your work.

Picturing Europe is for audiovisual artists – regardless of age or experience. Use the commission’s digital library to create an imaginative video clip that appeals to people of all ages and walks of life. It’s a tall order, but the prize is €10 000!

Finally, if you have a head for business why not enter the European entrepreneurship video award. Use your imagination to make a film that explains and sparks interest in starting up a business.

So, get creative and get involved – good luck!
