EMD 2015 conference attracted a record number of participants from the European maritime community

  • The European Maritime Day 2015 brought together over 1300  participants to discuss about the potential of the blue economy.
  • On May 30 & 31, the city of Piraeus hosted a series of public happenings at various locations of the city, celebrating its rich maritime history and culture. See more: www.emdpiraeus.gr
  • Next year's European Maritime Day will be held by Turku, Finland, in May 2016.

 

Welcome to European Maritime Day 2016!

European Maritime Day is celebrated annually in Europe around 20 May. The EMD Conference welcomes Europe's growing maritime community to discuss, debate and exchange best practices.

European Maritime Day 2016 will take place in an old locomotive hall called Logomo in Turku, Finland, on 18 and 19 May 2016.

The preparatory work for the European Maritime Day 2016 is already ongoing with coordination meetings between the Finnish government and the European Commission. The main themes, which will be elaborated in coming months, will be around boosting Blue Growth in Europe and worldwide, with a special focus on the High North.
