On 14 February, Athens will host the 1st Stakeholders' Workshop on Adriatic-Ionian Maritime Affairs. The Stakeholders will present their proposals on how to enhance benefits from maritime activities on employment, sustainable growth, accessibility and better quality of life. The workshop will discuss maritime economy, protection of the marine environment, fisheries and safer sea. The conclusions of the workshop, as well as the most relevant and feasible proposals, will be included in a EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian macro-region.

The atlas is an easy and fun way for students, professionals and anyone interested to learn more about Europe's seas and coasts, their environment, related human activities and European policies.

European Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Commissioner Maria Damanaki arrives in Germany today for a series of engagements in Berlin and Hamburg.

The Commission has launched a consultation to explore the way that the integrated maritime policy could be implemented in the Atlantic Ocean sea basin. Closing date: 15/10/2010.

Maritime spatial planning is about planning of sea space and can help us manage our seas and oceans sustainably. In the process, it can help us create new jobs and economic opportunities, meet our targets for reducing our carbon footprint and keep our seas healthy for generations to come.
Integrating maritime surveillance aims to allow for information exchange between public authorities reponsible for maritime surveillance in fields such as environment, pollution prevention, fisheries, transport, customs, border control, law enforecement and defence to make management more effective.

Evropski atlas morij

Evropski atlas morij je namenjen vsem, ki se zanimajo za pomorski svet in našo skupno pomorsko dediščino. Z atlasom smo želeli javnost opozoriti na pomen evropskih oceanov in morij v okviru celostne pomorske politike EU. Atlas vsebuje različne informacije o evropskih morjih, vključno s podatki o:

  • morski globini in podvodnem reliefu,
  • višini plimovanja in obalni eroziji,
  • pomorskih politikah in pobudah,
  • ribolovnih kvotah po vrsti rib in ribolovnem območju,
  • evropski ribiški floti,
  • obalnih dejavnostih,
  • statistiki pomorskega prometa in pristanišč,
  • najbolj oddaljenih regijah.


Izbrali smo zanimive informacije, ki smo jih temeljito preverili in so na voljo v vsej EU. Atlas je na voljo v angleščini, francoščini in nemščini.
