The European Commission's Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries manages two policy areas:

It is led by Lowri Evans (Director-General) under the political responsibility of Commissioner Maria Damanaki.
With a staff of around 400, it is one of the smallest departments in the Commission.
