News coverage
The news and events page and news items on our home page covers the EU fisheries policy and the integrated maritime policy. To keep up to date on other policy areas, please consult the Commission home page or the EU press room.
Language policy
This website adheres to the general language guidelines for EUROPA.
We try to provide the public with the information they are looking for in their own language. However, owing to translation constraints, some information is only available in English – especially items that are quickly out of date such as news items.

EU/US cooperation against illegal fishing worldwide
On 30 May, European Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Maria Damanaki, and her guest, Dr Jane Lubchenco, US Under-Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere, will participate in a European Parliament hearing on EU/US cooperation at the international level to promote sustainable fisheries management in Regional Fisheries Management Organisations and other international fora.
