Today and tomorrow, EU leaders will discuss a number of priorities that figure on the European agenda, including migration, security, defence, the economy and the digital single market. They will also – at 27 – discuss and decide on the procedure and the criteria for the relocation of the two EU agencies from London (the European Medicines Agency and the European Banking Authority).

On the occasion of the United Nations' World Refugee Day, the European Commission is today releasing the 'EU Skills Profile Tool for Third-Country Nationals'. It is an off – and online web editor that will make it possible for non-EU nationals to present their skills, qualifications, and experiences in a way that is well understood by employers, education and training providers and organisations working with migrants across the whole European Union.

Roaming charges end on 15 June 2017. Europeans travelling within the EU countries will Roam Like at Home, paying domestic prices for roaming calls, SMS and data.

The EU today celebrates 30 years of its 'Erasmus' programme. From Erasmus to Erasmus+, 9 million people have now benefited from exchanges abroad.

Today in the Justice council, 20 Member States reached a political agreement on the establishment of the new European Public Prosecutor's Office under enhanced cooperation. The European Parliament will have now to give its consent. Once in place, the independent EU public prosecutor will be equipped with the power to investigate and prosecute criminal cases affecting the EU budget, such as corruption or fraud with EU funds, or cross-border VAT fraud. It will be a strong, independent and efficient body specialised in fighting financial crime across the EU.

The REFIT Platform, launched as part of the Juncker Commission's Better Regulation Agenda and composed of external stakeholders and Member State experts, met on Wednesday 7 June and adopted 13 Opinions with concrete suggestions to the Commission on how to make existing EU laws more effective and efficient.

As the Commission gears up to publish the Mid-Term Review of the Capital Markets Union (CMU) Action Plan on 8 June, it is intensifying its efforts to improve the funding environment for small businesses. Currently, small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) often fail to get funding from banks yet they do not receive proper feedback as to the reason why, which hampers future attempts.

The European Commission is launching a call for proposals to select partners in Malta and Gozo to run 'Europe Direct Information Centres' (EIDCs).  Successful applicants will be entitled to an action grant and technical assistance which will enable them to carry out a set of communication activities as an EDIC.

One year ago, the European Commission and four major social media platforms announced a Code of Conduct on countering illegal online hate speech. It included a series of commitments by Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Microsoft to combat the spread of such content in Europe.
