During their two-day visit, the participants were addressed by various speakers on the role and function of the EU Institutions and the different EU policies.  They were also addressed by the Head of Cabinet of EU Commissoner John Dalli, Ms Joanna Darmanin, who spoke about the work being done in the field of Health and Consumer Protection.

The group was also addressed by Dr Joanna Drake, Director at DG Enterprise responsible for SMEs and Entrepreneurship, who gave an informative talk regarding the latest developments in the European Commission's drive towards increasing the competitiveness of SMEs throughout the EU.

The programme also included a tour of the Commission's audio-visual studios as well as a visit to the European Parliament. The journalists were given a presentation on the role of the Parliament.

At the end of the visit, all the participants had positive feedback confirming the benefits of such an experience.
