The main aim of the Partnership, which has been allocated €800, 000 over a four-year period, is that of strengthening synergies and initiatives undertaken by the various institutions within the EU and also by the respective Member States so as to ensure a better understanding of EU policies amongst citizens both on a regional, national and European level.

    L-Ewropa fil-Pjazza

The European Commission Representation in Malta has a significant role to play to this effect. As a representative of the one of the key European Institutions, the Representation's main mission to keep the citizens informed about European affairs and especially about policies affecting their daily lives. In so doing, the Representation has the responsibility to adopt and identify the most effective and efficient tool to communicate with the citizen.

It will provide information on the Lisbon Treaty, the role of European Institutions, the European funding system, energy, environment and climate change and other related EU matters. The objectives of L-Ewropa fil-Pjazza are:

    • To raise awareness on the role of the European Union and its function

    • To directly inform European citizen on major European policies
