The European Commission is launching a call for proposals to select partners in Malta and Gozo to run 'Europe Direct Information Centres' (EIDCs). Successful applicants will be entitled to an action grant and technical assistance which will enable them to carry out a set of communication activities as an EDIC.
The capital markets union (CMU) is a pivotal project of the Juncker Commission to boost jobs and growth in Europe through the mobilisation of further capital. It will allow capital to be channeled to all companies, including SMEs, and infrastructure projects that need it to expand and create jobs.

The European Commission has fined Google €2.42 billion for breaching EU antitrust rules. Google has abused its market dominance as a search engine by giving an illegal advantage to another Google product, its comparison shopping service.
European exporters reported a 10% increase in the number of trade barriers they encountered in 2016 alone. 372 such barriers were in place at the end of last year in over 50 trade destinations across the world. The 36 obstacles created in 2016 could affect EU exports that are currently worth around €27 billon.
The Juncker Commission has made the fight against tax avoidance, money laundering and terrorism financing one of its priorities. On 26 June, the Fourth Anti-Money Laundering Directive entered into force. It strengthens the existing rules and will make the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing more effective. It also improves transparency to prevent tax avoidance.
Today and tomorrow, EU leaders will discuss a number of priorities that figure on the European agenda, including migration, security, defence, the economy and the digital single market. They will also – at 27 – discuss and decide on the procedure and the criteria for the relocation of the two EU agencies from London (the European Medicines Agency and the European Banking Authority).

It is an off – and online web editor that will make it possible for non-EU nationals to present their skills, qualifications, and experiences in a way that is well understood by employers, education and training providers and organisations working with migrants across the whole European Union.
Roaming charges ended on 15 June 2017. Europeans travelling within the EU countries will Roam Like at Home, paying domestic prices for roaming calls, SMS and data.
