Amateurs' photo competition organised by the PES Group in the Committee of the Regions - Do you have your own perspective concerning European Union's issues or do you have new suggestions to make for improving the way it works? Photography is your hobby? Are you over 18 years old and a resident in one of the 27 EU's Member States? Then, don’t lose any more time! Get out your camera, start snapping and maybe you will be one of the four lucky winners who will win up to EUR 2,000 worth of photographic equipment, plus a three-day trip for two to Brussels!

The PES Group in the Committee of the Regions (CoR) has launched on 1 March the sixth edition of its annual photo competition, in order to mark the 2013 European Year of Citizens.  All participants must be amateur photographers and are asked to illustrate in a creative and constructive way through their unique photograph how they envisage their place in Europe and what they expect from the EU. In other words, they are asked to use all their creativity, imagination and originality in order to tell their story of Europe in one single photo. PES Group gives to the participants some inspirational ideas to follow, but they can also rely on their own ideas, as long as they agree with the competition's terms.

The best three photographs will be awarded with a 3 days trip for two persons to Brussels  to attend the award ceremony together with electronic/photographic equipment with a maximum value of EUR 2000, EUR 1500 and EUR 500 for the first, second and third prize accordingly. There is also a new prize of the public, which will offer to the winner a 3 days trip for two persons to Brussels to attend the award ceremony and photographic/electronic equipment with a maximum value of EUR 500 as well.

The competition runs from 1 March until 30 June 2013 and the participants are asked to upload their photo in JPEG format at 800 pixels along the longest edge.
