Around 75 Form students from different schools, participated in an event organised by the European Commission Representation together with Junior Achievement – Young Enterprise Malta. This was the first of a series of events scheduled to celebrate the Single Market Week, in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the EU Single Market.

This event also served as a springboard to launch a student publication, together with a teacher's manual, which should serve to stimulate class activities linked to entrepreneurship.

Students could focus on the differnt aspects of business in bespoke workshops. They were able to learn about the opportunities and duties intrinsic to business and had the chance to listen to success stories from Maltese entrepreneurs who transformed their ideas into realities. The aim of today's event was primarily to expose the student to the world of entrepreneurship, imbuing them, along the way, with a business sense.

In his opening speech, the Minsiter for Fair Competition, Small Businesses and Consumers Jason Azzopardi stressed that "the future of entrepreneurship is built upon ideas, innovation and creation by tomorrow's entrepreneurs."

The Minister referred to the Entrepreneurship through Education scheme. This scheme channels €100,000 annually for the benefit of public, private and Church schools to create entrepreneurship projects and initiatives.
