The second edition of the "My Europe Film Festival" was held on 11th and 12th of April 2013 at Europe House and was co-organised by the Euro Media Forum and the European Commission Representation in Malta, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Malta.

"My Europe Short Film Festival"- 11/12th April at Europe House

The main aim of this film festival was to point out that Europe is without borders and encourage people from all countries, be they artists or filmmakers, to exchange and defend identities and cultures, to promote discussion about different views and visions of Europe, as well as to promote short film distribution from Eastern and South-Eastern Europe.

The festival was divided into two different film theme programmes; one for each day of screenings, while the audience was given the opportunity to vote on the winning film that will receive the Audience Award at the award ceremony held in June 2013 in Berlin. On the first themed night of the contest, entitled "Living in Europe", the film who obtained the most of the votes had the title “Corrida” (7 min. by Janis Cimermanis) from Latvia, which was about a bull who began to win over the bullfighter, being a metaphor of the European Union, while the second night, entitled “Politics and Policies”, the most popular film to the audience had the title “Invisible” (15 min. by Harold Chapman) from United Kingdom and the story was about a traumatised by his past street-sweeper who realised that he must become visible again.

The entrance was free and both nights of the festival were a great success with an excellent turnout, as the seats were fully booked days before. Although not all films screened were necessarily explicitly about Europe, the European dimension came out of the comparison of stories, conflicts and topics, providing at the end a colourful picture of our Europe.
