The European Commission has by now tabled its legislative proposals for each area covered by the next EU budget 2014-2020. Amongst these is the new Programme for the Competitiveness of enterprises and SMEs (COSME), with a foreseen budget of €2.5 billion.

The Programme will ensure continuity with initiatives and actions already undertaken by the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (EIP), building on the results and lessons learnt. While many successful features of the EIP will be continued, management of the Programme will be simplified to make it easier for entrepreneurs and SMEs to benefit from it.

In order to inform relevant stakeholders and stimulate debate at national level, the European Commission Representation is organising an information session on the new Programme. For this purpose, we will be having an official from DG Enterprise, Mr Edward Tersmette, who will be giving a presentation about the new COSME Programme.

You are kindly invited to attend this event, which is taking place at Dar l-Ewropa on Thursday 16th February 2012 at 09:30hrs.

Since there are only a few seats left, you are kindly requested to confirm your attendance by Tuesday 14 February by contacting Ms Joanne Pulis on
