    A Balatont nem csak azért imádták a Keletnémetek (1961-1989 között) mert máshova nemigen utazhattak, de selymes, napfényes vize, a nyugati-keleti rokonok, ismerősök találkozásai és a magyar vendégszeret is rendkívül vonzó volt. Arról nem beszélve hogy a keletnémet Stasi és a magyar BM is aktívan megfigyelte őket. Filmünk mind e sok szempontú történetről prizmaként forog és vall.

    A film után a Lumière Filmklub háziasszonya, Gyárfás Dorka beszélget Hans-Henning Paetzke műfordítóval. A vetítés kurátora Bujdosó Bori, újságíró

    Lumière Film Club: German unity @ Balaton (d.: Péter Forgács)

    The lake Balaton was admired by the East-Germans (between 1961 and 1989). Not just because they could not travel anywhere else, but the list of attractive features included the Balaton’s cooling water, the meetings with relatives and friends from Western Germany and the Hungarian hospitality.  Not to mention that they were observed by the East German Stasi and the Hungarian Ministry of Interior. The film is presenting several aspects of this story.

    After the screening, the host of the evening, Dóra Gyárfás is discussing the topic with her guest translator Hans-Henning Paetzke. The curator of the Lumière Film Club is journalist Bori Bujdosó.
