The Seven Penny Evening
Presentation of the Snétberger Music Talent Centre, concert of Parno Graszt, and short films of the Faces of Poverty Film Festival
During the first part of the evening, students of the Snétberger Music Talent Center give a concert. The professional leader of the centre is Mr Ferenc Snétberger, an internationally acknowledged guitar artist of Roma origin. In the centre, young and talented Roma musicians with a disadvantaged background are taught and mentored thus paving the way for them to begin their musical career. Anyone from the audience can join in the concert.
Following this, Parno Graszt will take the stage. Parno Graszt, formed in 1987 in Paszab (Szabolcs County) is one of the most authentic Roma music groups, with members at the age of 10 to 77 years.
During the event, short films of the Faces of Poverty film festival are screened.
