Launch of the list of periodicals

The European Commission’s Central Library is pleased to announce that, a new list of periodicals is now available via the ECLAS catalogue. This list allows you to browse by title in alphabetical order all the periodicals to which the Commission subscribes and which are thus available to Commission staff.

To access the list, go to ECLAS, click on "Catalogues" in the menu on the top right of the screen and choose "Journals" or "E-Journals". You will then see a link to "Journals list" on the top left of the screen.

By using the "Apply filters" function you can, for example, limit your search to "online titles" or by language.

We trust that you will find this new list easy-to-use and that you will appreciate its features. We will keep working to make further improvements. Please do not hesitate to send us your comments and suggestions.

THE NEW ECLAS CATALOGUE IS NOW ON LINE

The European Commission's Central Library has just launched the new ECLAS catalogue on EUROPA.

The catalogue gives access to the collections of the Commission's Central Library as well as to those of the libraries in the many Directorates General and services which are members of the RéseauBib network.

While the principal subjects covered are European integration and European law and policies, the collections also include many works on the Member States, international affairs and third countries in all the official languages. The catalogue contains detailed bibliographical information on each item and is constantly updated.

The easy-to-use interface is available in English and French and, through the various search options, caters to both novices and experts. Readers have free access to the entire catalogue and, by registering, can set up alerts and save searches. Searches can also be limited to more specialised sub-catalogues, such as journals, e-journals or the ECLAS thesaurus.

Recognised external libraries may borrow works or obtain photocopies of articles from the Central Library via the international inter-library loans system.

The catalogue is still very much a "work-in-progress". It is intended to make improvements and add new features whenever new technical developments become available or following feedback from users. A form for your comments is available via the link at the bottom of each screen.
