Find Erasmus+ Opportunities

What is it?

Erasmus+ is the EU's new programme for boosting skills and employability through education, training, youth, and sport.

Between 2014-2020 the programme will provide opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain work experience, and volunteer abroad, as well as contribute to increasing multilingualism in Europe.

What does it involve?

Erasmus+ activities in the field of languages aim to promote language learning and linguistic diversity through improving learning performance.

More specifically, language activities under Erasmus+ aim to build language skills and language teaching to remove barriers to participation in education, training, and youth programmes, as well as easing mobility throughout Europe.

What are the opportunities?

The opportunities available under Erasmus+ fall into two categories; linguistic support and strategic partnerships.

Linguistic support is available for students, trainees, or volunteers in the language they will be using during their placement abroad. Much of the support will be offered online due to the advantages offered by e-learning, and will include both a skills assessment and voluntary courses.

While the capacity of the tool is expanded to cover all languages, funding will be available for languages not yet included.

In addition to linguistic support, Erasmus+ also provides opportunities for strategic partnerships in the area of language teaching and learning. Specifically, this involves supporting innovative and effective ideas in areas such as:

  • Teaching methods
  • Assessment methods
  • Teaching and training material
  • Research
  • Digital learning technology
