The town of Monmouth wins Piccolingo award for young children's language learning
Nine cities participated in the Piccolingo Contest promoting language learning activities for small children.
The organisation 'Sur Le Pont' and Monmouth Town Council organised a children’s language festival in July 2011. The event was a great success, attracting around 400 junior visitors and their parents from the area. While children were enjoying entertaining language activities, adults could attend a workshop on language learning given by Mrs Tracy Adams from the Devon Local Authority.
Mr Gerald Bright, the mayor of Monmouth and Mrs Ceri Poyelle, the leader of 'Sur Le Pont', received their awards in Brussels on the occasion of the European Day of Languages 2011.
