Le Soleil, la Lune et les Étoiles, Ireland, 2008Look out Bebo! Make way MySpace! So long Facebook!! Fifth year students, Class Barbara, from St. Michael’s Loreto Secondary School Navan, have gone online with one of the most captivating web journals ever posted! And, oh là là, did we happen to mention these blogs are all written en français? Under the guidance of their French and ICT teachers, logging on to learn has become an integral part of students’ language learning experience. As such, blogging in French has proved an extremely innovative and fun way for the students to develop their skills in the target language. As the portal name puts it, once introduced to the thrills and spills of the Class Barbara blog, it promises to become the sun, moon and stars of any surfer’s blogosphère! Try it out for yourself. A Language-friendly Rural Municipality, Latvia, 2008Mālpils Rural Municipality has launched several initiatives to encourage local inhabitants to learn languages in an informal setting. A group of grandmothers started to learn German in 2006 by exchanging letters with another group of grandmothers from Aurich, Germany. At the same time the grandmothers in Latvia were also invited to participate in a Language Club to help refresh their knowledge of German. In 2007 an English Language Club was also launched in the framework of a Grundtvig / adult education project and later on sponsored by a local family. Valodām draudzīgs pagasts, Latvija, 2008. gadsMālpils pagasts ir aizsācis vairākas iniciatīvas, lai mudinātu vietējos iedzīvotājus apgūt svešvalodas neformālos apstākļos. Vairākas Mālpils vecmāmiņas 2006. gadā sāka mācīties vācu valodu, sarakstoties ar vācu kundzēm no Vācijas pilsētas Aurihas. Lai mālpilietēm palīdzētu atjaunot vācu valodas zināšanas, viņas arī uzaicināja piedalīties valodas sarunu kluba nodarbībās. Pieaugušo izglītības programmas “Gruntvig” ietvaros 2007. gadā atklāja arī angļu valodas klubu, kurš, programmas līdzekļiem beidzoties, turpināja darboties, pateicoties kādas vietējās ģimenes ziedojumiem. Three hands (Drei Hände – Tri roke – Tre mani), AustriaThe lower valley of the river Gail has a border with Italy and Slovenia, but had no pre-school facilities to promote the necessary linguistic competence for the three language communities living within a radius of 30 kilometres. The Alpen-Adria-Kindergarten initiative "Drei Hände – Tri roke – Tre mani" was launched to fill this gap. The project is realized in three locations, and in three languages: Nötsch (Austria), Tarvisio (Italy) and Kranjska Gora (Slovenia), in German, Italian, and Slovene, respectively. Kindergarten teachers share work in a rotation system: in each of the three affiliated kindergartens, children participate in activities in their second and third languages once a week. Drei Hände – Tri roke – Tre mani (Österreich)Obgleich das untere Gailtal an Italien und Slowenien grenzt, waren die Vorschuleinrichtungen in diesem Grenzraum nicht auf die Förderung der sprachlichen Kompetenzen der Kinder eingerichtet, die in den drei Sprachgemeinschaften im Umkreis von 30 Kilometern leben. Um diese Lücke zu schließen, wurde der Alpen-Adria-Kindergartenverbund „Drei Hände – Tri roke – Tre mani“ ins Leben gerufen. Das Projekt wird an drei verschiedenen Orten und in drei verschiedenen Sprachen durchgeführt: in Nötsch (Österreich), in Tarvisio (Italien) und in Kranjska Gora (Slowenien). Die Sprachen sind Deutsch, Italienisch und Slowenisch. Die muttersprachlichen Vorschullehrer arbeiten in den drei teilnehmenden Kindergärten nach einem rollierenden System. Centre for multilingualism (Vom multimedialen Lernzentrum zum Mehrsprachigkeitszentrum), AustriaThe Adult Education Centre (Volkshochschule) in Götzis promotes language learning and awareness for different languages and cultures by various activities to support integration, in co-operation with okay.zusammen leben, a project centre for migration and integration, and with Tierra Madura, a joint initiative of the inhabitants of Austrian and Latin Amercan origin in Vorarlberg. The Centre also offers a wide range of activities for language learners available either on the spot or via the Internet. The e-tridem-Projekt offers for instance distance learning in English, German or Spanish. The monthly ‘language café’ invites learners to practise any one of eleven languages in a convivial setting. Vom multimedialen Lernzentrum zum Mehrsprachigkeitszentrum (Österreich)Die Volkshochschule in Götzis fördert den Sprachenerwerb und das sprachliche und kulturelle Bewusstsein. In Zusammenarbeit mit „okay.zusammen leben“, der Stelle für Zuwanderung und Integration in Vorarlberg, und mit „Tierra Madura“, einer Initiative von LateinamerikanerInnen und VorarlbergerInnen zur Förderung der Integration, organisiert die Volkshochschule integrationsfördernde Aktivitäten. Ferner bietet sie Fremdsprachenlernenden ein breites Spektrum an Aktivitäten vor Ort oder über das Internet. So können beispielsweise im Rahmen des Projekts „e-tridem.net“ die Sprachen Englisch, Deutsch oder Spanisch per Fernstudium gelernt werden. Bei dem einmal im Monat stattfindenden „Sprachencafe“ haben die Lernenden die Möglichkeit, in ungezwungener Atmosphäre in elf verschiedenen Sprachen ihre Kenntnisse praktisch anzuwenden. Unheard-of, Hungary, 2007The programme of the Unheard-of Foundation (Hallatlan Alapítvány) aims to popularize the learning and use of the Hungarian sign language. The thematic vocabulary is displayed on the project website in the form of continuously repeating video shots, allowing for practising the signs and mimicking the gestures in parallel, which is very important for successful communication in sign language. Apart from an online sign language dictionary the website also offers other functions for learning, information and networking, e.g. a forum, a chat, an online quiz and a news section. The content of the website is available in Hungarian, some of which is translated into English, German and Spanish. |
Hallatlan, Magyaroroszág, 2007A Hallatlan Alapítvány programja a jelnyelvhasználat és jelnyelvoktatás népszerűsítését, terjesztését és támogatását tűzte ki céljául. A projekt weboldalának jelnyelv-elsajátítás szempontjából lényeges újítása, hogy az elérhető tematikus tartalom folyamatosan ismétlődő „internetes videók” formájában jelenik meg, ami segíti a helyes jelhasználat és a - különös fontossággal bíró - kapcsolódó mimika könnyebb gyakorlását és elsajátítását. Ugyanakkor a projekt weboldala jóval több, mint egy jelnyelvi szótár. Számos kiegészítő szolgáltatása révén – ilyenek a fórum, a chat, kvíz, hírek, stb. – a jelnyelvtanulás hatékony segédeszköze, információforrás, és egyben közösségi oldal is. Open to every citizen, Lithuania, 2007Singing has always been an inspiring way to experience a language. The project "Open to Every Citizen", exploits this potential by presenting six different languages. The beauty of these languages is conveyed by choirs from Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Italy, Great Britain and Spain. The singers were the first to "taste" the languages through learning three songs in each language. A series of concerts was organised to awaken interest in these languages through enjoyment. A CD was released at the end to record the songs performed by the joint Choir. Visit the project website! |
„Kalba – visiems“, Lietuva (2007 m.)Dainos visuomet buvo įkvepiantis būdas pajusti kalbą. Juo pristatant šešias skirtingas kalbas pasinaudota projekte „Kalba – visiems“ („Open to Every Citizen“). Šių kalbų grožį perteikia Lietuvos, Estijos, Latvijos, Italijos, Didžiosios Britanijos ir Ispanijos chorai. Mokydamiesi trijų dainų kiekviena kalba pirmi kalbas pajuto dainininkai. Siekiant sužadinti susidomėjimą šiomis kalbomis jomis gėrintis buvo surengti koncertai. Projekto pabaigoje buvo išleistas kompaktinis diskas, kuriame įrašytos jungtinio choro atliekamos dainos. Routes in Teaching Modern Greek, 2007The above distance training course is addressed to expatriates and foreigners who are involved in teaching Greek as a foreign language abroad. Its aims are to help teachers acquire the knowledge and teaching skills required for language teaching in general and to train them in the methodology of teaching Greek as a foreign language at all levels and to all age-groups. Διαδρομές στη διδασκαλία της νέας ελληνικής, 2007Αυτά τα μαθήματα επιμόρφωσης από απόσταση απευθύνονται σε ομογενείς και αλλογενείς που διδάσκουν την ελληνική ως ξένη γλώσσα εκτός Ελλάδας. Στόχος τους είναι να βοηθήσουν τους διδάσκοντες να αποκτήσουν τις απαραίτητες γνώσεις και διδακτικές ικανότητες που απαιτούνται για τη γλωσσική διδασκαλία καθώς και να τους εκπαιδεύσουν στη μεθοδολογία διδασκαλίας της ελληνικής ως ξένης γλώσσας σε όλα τα επίπεδα και για όλες τις ηλικίες.
