Documents of the EU Network of Independent Experts on Fundamental Rights (2002-2006):

The EU Network of Independent Experts on Fundamental Rights was set up by the European Commission upon request of the European Parliament. It issued reports in 2002-2005 on the situation of fundamental rights in the Member States and in the Union, as well as opinions on specific issues related to the protection of fundamental rights in the Union.

The EU Network took the initiative of preparing a Commentary of the Charter of Fundamental Rights [3 MB] , in its original version as proclaimed at the Nice European Council of December 2000.

The content of the documents issued by the EU Network do not bind the European Commission. The Commission accepts no liability whatsoever with regard to the information contained in these documents.
