Making the best use of everyone's talents: promoting diversity in the workplace (2010) en

 

Recruiting and managing a diverse workforce can have economic benefits for business as employees from diverse backgrounds can bring new perspectives and ideas, helping companies to reach new customers and markets. Creating a workplace where diversity is respected can also help employees be more productive, as they feel able to be open about all aspects of their lives or identities with their colleagues and so can be themselves at work.

Released on the occasion of the Fourth Equality Summit in Brussels, Belgium on 15-16 November 2010, this short film focuses on four companies in Belgium and Ireland to show how they successfully recruit and manage diverse workforces and the tools and actors available which can provide support.
 

Do we really know the Roma? (2010) en

 

This video news release (VNR) presents an emerging new reality for Europe's Roma. Shot in Slovakia and Spain and produced for the 2nd European Roma Summit in Cordoba in May 2010, the film features Roma who are integrating successfully into society, setting an example to their families and communities and helping to change preconceived opinions.

The jigsaw of identity: one person, many pieces (2009) en

 

 

Released on the occasion of the Equality Summit in Stockholm, 16–17 November 2009, this film explores the theme of identity within the context of our societies where prejudices and stereotyping are commonplace and promoting the values of a diverse society remains a constant challenge. Through looking at the lives of three different personalities at ease with the many aspects of their identity and their place in society, the film inspires viewers to reflect upon how they see themselves and how others see them.

The film was produced with the cooperation of AGE - the European Older People’s Platform, the European Disability Forum (EDF), the European Network Against Racism (ENAR), ILGA Europe – the European Region of the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA), and the European Youth Forum (YFJ).

This video news release (VNR), filmed in Hungary and Spain, tries to look at the reasons why anti-Roma feeling has been so ingrained in so many European countries for so long and also looks at efforts being made to improve the situation.

Time to Change, Ending Anti-Roma Discrimination in Europe (2008) en

 

 

First shown during the first European Roma Summit in September 2008, this short documentary highlights the situation of the Roma which has all too often been characterised through European history by discrimination and exclusion from the rest of society. It also highlights initiatives that are taking place and which give reason to hope that the situation is changing.
