The European Commission (Directorate General for Justice) in cooperation with the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and Missing Children Europe.
To mark this year’s International Missing Children's Day, the European Commission, in cooperation with the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and Missing Children Europe, the European Federation for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children, is organising a high level conference in Brussels on 4 June 2013.
The European telephone number for missing children, 116 000 has been a priority on the European agenda for a number of years.
The aim of the conference is to raise awareness about the 116 000 hotlines, exchange good practices and identify practical tools to continuously improve the service delivered by the hotlines in all Member States. A particular focus will be on innovative approaches and challenges to finding missing children and talking to children, including through new media, social networking, mobile devices.
The conference is at expert level and is open to Member State representatives, national operators and experts on missing children hotlines.
Participation by invitation only. In principle, only one person per organisation will be admitted.
